In October we held a field day with local stakeholders at our Ada’a site. We invited both farmers from surrounding districts as well as other members of our local stakeholder group. In the morning we walked through fields and talked with farmers about their experiences of planting fodder and how this fitted into their dairy enterprise. In the afternoon we had a stakeholder meeting to discuss how to take things forward. The afternoon discussion highlighted how feed and fodder are only one element of developing the dairy value chain. Planted fodder is a useful entry point but is not the end of the story. We took along a film-maker Lieven Corthouts to document the day but as the film was put together we realised that it captured many of the elements of the project as a whole. If you are in Ethiopia, let us know and we can let you have a DVD. If you have the bandwidth you can see the film here:
Hi Alan,
Nice blog! Very informative, even for us staying next door…
I would love to have a copy of the film!
Thanks
